J. Capps Shoshone Indian Trade Blanket-1911- SOLD(Item: B-888)
Offering this rare and hard to find trade blanket, a Capps Shoshone Indian trade blanket. This blanket has colors of red, black, gray, green and off white. The simplicity and beauty of the pattern is something Capps was known for in the designs of their blankets. The condition is very good with only some wear to the original felted binding. The blanket looks and displays great. Thinking that this blanket is now 100 years old, that a little wear on the edge is to be expected. The original frame of the Capps label is visible. There's a picture of this pattern in the book Chasing Rainbows by Barry Friedman on page 72 and also a full size page image of one in the book Language of the Robe by Bob Kapoun, on page 72. A fantastic blanket for a collector and one that is ready to enjoy with no excuses.
