Oregon City Indian Trade Blanket with Label-- SOLD(Item: B-887)
Offering this wonderful Oregon City Indian trade blanket that is in fantastic condition. It is wool and still has the original Oregon City label in the corner. The colors of teal, pumpkin, brown, brick, green and more give this pattern a great look and the design is detailed. The excellent whip stitched binding is still intact and is in excellent shape. The label is the 5th label, circa 1920-1935. There is a pattern like this shown in one of the 1911 catalogs. There's a blanket like this in the book Chasing Rainbows by Barry Friedman on page 143, lower left, and also one in the book Language of the Robe by Bob Kapoun, page 100. The blanket displays wonderfully and is a great piece for a collection. Several images taken in different light, so enjoy.
