Display of Antique Quilts Beacon Blankets

Early Democratic Rose Quilt- As is SOLD

(Item: Q-749)

Offering this wonderful 9 block applique quilt, the Democratic Rose or often called Rose of Sharon. Unfortunatley this quilt was used and enjoyed by someone or someones in the past, but is still a treasure of a quilt with a great pattern and colors. There is alot of wear in the reds, see images.  Actually the wear is mostly in the red fabrics and very little in the green and the ground fabric is good. Some of the red binding is gone from the edge. I've had this quilt hanging on display for the past few months . It is hand quilted and hand appliqued. The quilting is at 7 spi there's lots of  double and triple line quilting patterns.  The person I purchased the quilt from said it was made by Ruth O'Connel who was from Springfield , Massachusetts.

Circa:  1870's
