Cindy's Antique Quilts

This is a great unusual painted flowers state quilt, as the painting is done on the black brushed cotten fabric and it has a wonderful silk sashing of red, white and blue. The state flowers are  painted in each of the blocks and it has the name of the state. I didn't check to be sure each flower correlated with each state! The condition is very good with a few slight splits on the binding edge, one image shows a corner.  I have seen state flower quilts, but never one done on black ground and sashed like this. The blocks are machine top stitched and there is not really any quilting , but it is backed in a soft lavender/plum silky fabric. Displays well and is an excellent quilt for a collection. Acquired back East, but was told came from Texas.
