Poppy Applique Quilt-Marie Webster pattern/ Dated SOLD

(Item: Q-634)
Offering a fine example of a Marie Webster pattern, Poppy quilt. This quilt is in excellent/mint condition. The workmanship is wonderful with fine quilting at 13-14 spi and fine applique too!! The separate binding is stitched on by hand. An attractive inner border with the poppies appliqued inside like a spray of flowers and then a extra nice outer border with the poppies appliqued. It also has the makers note attached on the back which reads "Jessie Ringrose Carson to my doughter Margaret Carson Hunt 1930. I have another Marie Webster quilt from the same family with note attached, the Primrose Wreath, that is on the web site. This quilt is just wonderful in every way. The size is generous also measuring 80x96 inches. The quilt displays well and looks great hanging. There is already a sleeve for hanging the quilt attached to the back side edge. Being one of Marie Webster patterns adds to the appeal of this quilt. As noted in the book, Marie Webster's Garden of Quilts by Rosiland Webster Perry and Marty Frolli, which is excellent reading, "This pattern first appeared in January 1912 in the Ladies Home Journal". This quilt would be wonderful for a collection and is a beauty to enjoy. Ohio
