Mexican Rose Quilt- McCalls Quilting/Nov/Dec-- SOLD(Item: Q-559)
This is an excellent quilt in every way. The condition is mint, as it was unused and has had one washing, so is clean and ready to enjoy. The quilting is wonderful as it is hand quilted at 10 spi and also fine applique. The quilting patterns on the quilt are another special credit to this quilt. There are wreaths, diamonds, leaves and many more quilting patterns throughout the quilt. The separate binding was hand stitched on. Colors of red, green and pumpkin on a white ground. Pat Sloan, designer, made a modern version of this pattern shown in the Nov/Dec 2010 McCalls Quilting issue. Take a good look at the pictures as they show the quality of this late 30's or 40's quilt. The quilt displays well. St. Louis , Illinois area.
